Do you take reservations?

If you want to reserve a table for a special occasion with a group of Min 8 and Max 12 Adults please contact us for our new group booking reservation policy. Due to the size of our space we do not offer reservations in general during the daytime for less than 8 people. The cafe is seated on a first come, first served basis. If we are full when you arrive and you’d like wait for a table you can leave your name and number at the counter and we’ll call you when we can seat you. You are of course welcome to wait outside and have a drink with us whilst a space becomes available inside. Usually our guests spend between 1 and 1.5 Hours at Lonely Hearts Cafe.

I’d like to bring my young children to Lonely Hearts, can I bring my stroller inside?

As we only have a small entrance area at our cafe we do not have space for strollers inside, but we can offer you to park your stroller inside the house entrance at the side of the cafe. Please note that we are not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings if you choose to leave your stroller parked there during your visit.

When should I come to most likely get a table without a wait?

As we do get busy at weekends,  we ask you to please be patient with us and recommend arriving at 10am to secure a table, especially for groups of 4 or more people. On Saturdays and Sundays the maximum group size we can seat is 6 people. On the weekdays that we are open, we are usually less busy (unless we have a special promotion running: check our homepage for the latest updates).

How long will I have to wait for a table?

Once the cafe is full inside there can sometimes be a wait of up to one hour at peak times. If you’re happy to share a table with another group, we will be able to accommodate you sooner. Please check in at the counter with our host when you arrive and we will let you know how long the current waiting time is. We will always give you an honest and transparent estimate so you can make an informed decision.

Do you have a detailed allergy menu?

Our team is very knowledgable about all of the ingredients we use at Lonely Hearts, so we are always happy to answer your questions when you visit us. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and can prepare food separately if required. If you’d like to check out our detailed allergy card in advance of your visit you can do so by clicking here.

Do you take offer non-meat options?

We have a veggie or vegan option for each item on our menu, and we even invented our very own vegan egg and vegan sausage patties from scratch! Many of our sweets, bakes and treats are also available vegan including our floats and shakes. We invite you to have a look at our menu for the full overview and we’re always happy to answer any questions you might have.

Do you have a high chair for young children?

For health and safety reasons we do not have space in our small dining room for additional furniture (such as a high chair) as it could be dangerous for our staff when they work a hectic brunch shift as the cafe does get very full. However, we do accommodate many little diners at Lonely Hearts who enjoy our restaurant whilst using their own high chair that can be placed onto the seat itself. We aren't however able to accommodate children who require a high chair as a necessity if you do not bring your own portable option with you, due to the dimensions of our space.

Do you have WiFi available?

We do indeed have WiFi at the cafe, you can simply select it from the list, accept the terms and away you go. Don’t forget to tag us in your photos and videos when you post on social media. That helps our little biz grow!

Can I bring my laptop and work at Lonely Hearts?

Our aim with Lonely Hearts cafe is to create a community-centric space where customers can hang out and eat and drink together and feel at home. For that reason we generally discourage working on laptops at Lonely Hearts. On slower days, we are open to people working or studying in our space but if we get busier we may ask you for the table back to accommodate guests who would like to eat breakfast. Please note that we don’t have any charging points available in our cafe.

I’d like to bring my dog to Lonely Hearts, what is your policy on furry friends inside the cafe?

We love meeting your pet pals but as we have a small space, we need to be realistic about accommodating them especially on busy days. On weekdays (or when the cafe is less busy) we allow maximum two small or medium sized dogs in the cafe at any one time. On weekends and peak times we reduce this to one dog at a time to ensure the safety of your pets, and our staff. We do not allow large dogs inside the cafe at any time. To clarify our definition this relates to dogs that are not able to comfortably sit underneath one of our dining tables to ensure that they don’t become a trip hazard for our service team. In the warmer months we would ask you to please use our outdoor seating area if you visit us with your doggos. We reserve the right to refuse entry to dogs on a case by case basis at our discretion.

Are you hiring at the moment?

We are always happy to receive applications if you think that you’d be a good fit for our team you can send us your CV and cover letter via jobs[at]lonelyheartsberlin.com. Right now we are hiring for the following positions, you can click here for all of the information.

Do you have barrier-free toilets?

Sadly the size of our toilet stall means that we are not able to offer barrier-free facilities at our cafe. We are not currently satisfied with the accessibility of our space, and it is something that we are actively working on going into 2023. We would welcome any specific feedback on this topic to hello[at]lonelyheartsberlin.com.
